Thank a Teacher Day 2026: Our students’ messages to their teachers
Today marks Thank a Teacher Day, a special date to celebrate the dedication, hard work, and care of all teachers and teaching staff across the UK.
Modern education reminds us that teaching is about much more than a lesson plan – it takes a whole support system to guide a child’s development, tremendously impacting their understanding of the world, their place in society, and their own personal growth.
Academy21 is lucky to have a team of outstanding educators who embody this holistic approach. They are incredibly passionate not only about sharing knowledge and rekindling students’ interest in learning, but about providing the vital pastoral care that helps our students live healthier, more balanced lives.
Even though our staff deserve to be celebrated every day, there’s no better day than today to share heartwarming messages from current Academy21 students about how these educators have impacted their academic and personal journeys.

“My teachers were all very nice and inclusive since the day I first joined Academy21 til now they have all been so nice, making me feel included, asking me how my day was, talking to me, checking in on me and I appreciate it a lot, they also helped me with confidence and talking to other students as well and made me feel so welcomed that I started contributing in class. I also love how they check in on you during lessons and are so nice overall”

“She is an amazing maths teacher, definitely the best I’ve ever known. She is really kind, and you can tell she really cares about her students. I missed 3 years of education due to mental health, which meant I’d missed a lot of content, especially the core subjects. However, despite being so behind, she taught me so much, and I’ve made a huge amount of progress in maths, and I owe it all to her. She makes the lessons fun and actually enjoyable (and the amazing sense of humour is a bonus haha), and you don’t see that a lot nowadays; teachers can be cold and distant, with no empathy for their students, but with her, it’s the opposite. She truly wants the best for all her students; her empathy, teaching style, humour and encouraging words have made a massive difference for me, and for that I’m extremely grateful. She is the best!!!!”

“[The teacher] has been an amazing English teacher; she makes lessons understandable, and she is interested in lots of similar things to me, so I’ve loved her lessons. I will miss her. [The teacher] explains things really well in Maths lessons, and he is patient and kind. He always has extra work ready if I finish early.”
