Extra-curricular and academic support
Academy21 provides a wealth of support for pupils, not just for academic provision in place of regular school lessons, but also extra skills classes and activities to provide a holistic education for all. Our Support Offerings, include Study Skills Courses, Wellbeing Workshops and Activity Clubs for students aged between 12 and 16 years that integrate with our core Academy21 offer.

We understand that with many schools being short staffed and a huge variety of needs to cater for, delivering sufficient extracurricular and additional academic support can be a challenge. Academy21 provides not only alternative academic provision, but support for students outside of subject lessons too.
Plus, it’s a hassle free and cost-effective way to expand your school’s curriculum without the need for additional resources or space.
Study Skills
Effective study skills are vital, not only for GCSEs and A-Levels, but for further education and the world of work too. Having this additional knowledge will assist students in any situation where preparation is required or when stress and nerves are likely to arise. We provide skills workshops online so your students can learn from experts in the field.
This is a practical and project-based programme for students aged 14-16, which covers:
- Exam preparation
- Time management
- Motivation techniques
- Revision methods
- Strategies to improve focus
Students who complete the course and classes will receive a certificate of completion, which demonstrates they have become more effective learners by upping their knowledge in:
- How to incorporate proven time management
- Revision sessions, and
- Developing their expertise for lifelong learning
Our Study Skills course is flexible to your school’s requirements, but we would recommend a course of two, 40-minute lessons a week, over the course of 16 weeks.
This programme can run in parallel with the Academy21 core offer or your own provision’s offer. Group sizes are 1:15 per group and we have flexible start dates to suit you.

Wellbeing Workshops
For many students, Wellbeing Workshops are a chance to take time away from the pressures of academic life and reflect on how they cope and what they can improve in order to protect their own mental wellbeing. Academy21 provides this without any additional strain on your staff or resources.
For pupils aged 14-19, our Wellbeing Workshops put the control back in their hands and ensure they have the skills to be an advocate of their own learning and wellness.
Benefits of these workshops include:
- Increased self-awareness and advocacy
- Giving students a toolkit for coping with adverse or challenging situations – such as exams and interviews
- Teaching them mindfulness techniques, the art of being present and how to advocate for positivity in their lives
- Students develop an appreciation and mastery of wellness tools and practices
Our six, themed workshops are delivered over the course of 6 weeks, led by experts in 1:15 group sizes. The 40-minute workshops will cover a variety of topics, including:
- Coping with anxiety
- Exam confidence
- Resilience
- Mindfulness
- Safety online
- Growth mindset
Students will also receive a digital credential and certificate, which can be used on future university or job applications, showing their dedication to their own mental wellbeing and a pro-active approach to their learning. Pricing is calculated per week, usually following our 6-week programme.
