ONLINE ALTERNATIVE PROVISION

How it works

Tailored provision for primary pupils in need of flexible, sensitive and timely interventions.

Our Key Stage 2 provision enables pupils requiring Alternative Provision to access a reading, writing and maths curriculum that, alongside our pastoral skills development, equips them with strong foundations for full re-integration or transition into the next phase of their education.

With small class sizes and flexible morning or afternoon options, we focus on building strong relationships through adaptive teaching. Delivered by our expert primary teachers, our live lessons are designed to engage and support primary aged pupils, ensuring they are secondary ready.

“Academy21 has been an excellent provision for our pupil, who had been out of school for many months. The fact that she has been able to attend regularly and engage successfully is a real achievement, and Academy21’s supportive approach has played a significant part in this… We also really appreciate that teachers are quick to raise concerns and communicate with us when needed. Their proactive approach means we can work together effectively to support the child’s progress and wellbeing. Overall, Academy21 has provided a reliable, responsive, and highly supportive service, and we are very grateful for the impact it has had.”

“I was just blown away by how much he was interacting. I can’t speak for [his mum] Claire, but it brought me to tears to see the change in him – the way he was interacting, articulating himself, and communicating with the members of staff. The portal is fantastic in terms of giving me the information I need, which I also use to support the EHCP review. It’s very accessible.”

“Academy21 is our primary provider of live, online, fact-to-face learning at Gloucestershire County Council. They have been instrumental in fulfilling our duty to provide Alternative Education Provision under Section 19 of the Education Act. In just the first twelve months of our partnership, Academy21 has played a crucial role in the educational journey and reintegration of nearly 200 pupils. We are immensely proud of the positive impact this partnership has had on the lives of Gloucestershire’s children.”

SAFEGUARDING

Ensuring safety and comfort of students is our priority

Safeguarding is of the highest priority to us at Academy21.

We have a range of measures in place to ensure your students receive a safe and comfortable experience with us. Our robust Safeguarding Policy operates alongside other key measures, including consistent teachers at Key Stage 2, so we can be aware of any signs of change or welfare concerns in your pupils.

Our teachers are reactive and responsive, checking in regularly with students and monitoring wellbeing alongside our Primary partners. Academy21 staff are fully trained on safeguarding by our Safeguarding team, led by the DSL, ensuring the safety of students is at the forefront of everything we do.

We work closely and collaboratively with our partners so that our approach is suitable for your student needs and you will have access to our online Portal, as well as lesson by lesson updates and attendance reporting to track your students’ progress.

Our partnerships

Working with us

Whether your pupil needs a short-term circuit-break, or if you’re looking for extended support for your in-house provision, we’re here to help.

Our class sizes are small, so our teachers can prioritise time with each pupil. Our classes provide flexible options for engagement and participation, including typed answers and verbal interaction using audio and camera functionality.

Primary school partners benefit from the same attention to detail, high level of customer service, and reporting functionality as all of our clients. With attendance, effort, understanding and interaction data provided for each student after every session.
