Academy21 is proud to be the UK’s leading provider of live, online, alternative provision.
Each year we work with hundreds of schools and thousands of learners across more than 130 local authority areas. Established in 2012, we have a strong track record of supporting vulnerable learners from years 7 to 11.
Through our services we bring students with behavioural, medical and mental health needs a pathway to achieve strong recognised outcomes.
Virtual Classrooms
Our classes are small and take place in a fully virtual environment, allowing for more flexibility to adapt classes around students’ and schools’ schedules.
Specialised teachers
Our teachers are fully UK qualified, and DBS checked. They also have extensive experience teaching online and supporting students who may be vulnerable. Meet our team here.
Student portals
Our Student Portal has everything a student may need. Students can access it 24/7 to find their class schedule, lesson recordings, and even interactive content.
Live inductions
Inductions are live to make students feel at ease when meeting teachers and classmates for the first time.
4x40min live lessons
All lessons are 100% live, giving students the opportunity to interact with classmates and the teacher in real-time.
Interactive activities

Discuss your needs in detail
Once connected to your manager, you’ll be able to arrange an online or in-person training session and discuss all your needs in detail. Our partnership managers will work with you to ensure the best fit for you and your students.
Approve quote, set up account via form
When we’ve understood your requirements we will provide a bespoke quote. Once accepted and your account is up and running you’ll be asked to complete an online enrolment form on behalf of your student(s).
Onboarding and support
You will be assigned a RCA (regional client administrator), who will become your personal point of contact for all onboarding needs. They will be on hand to help to get the most out of Academy21’s services.
Setup and go!
Finally, you’ll receive 2 setup emails: one which shows you how to access your mentor portal. The other with login information to share with your student(s). Please note: Our customer support team only communicates with mentors and never directly to students.

Making every lesson count
We monitor and report on each students’ attendance and engagement on a lesson-by-lesson basis.
You can use your Mentor Portal to stay updated with the latest progress reports, which include:
- Regular assessments and extension activities
- Weekly attendance reports
- Termly academic reports with teacher comments
This detailed data is crucial for you to check on your students’ progress and set realistic expectations and goals for their improvement, whether that means getting a certification, boosting attendance levels, or participating more in class.
