A Recipe for Success: Academy21 and Apollo at Haybrook College

Apollo and Academy21 have partnered for more than a decade to provide anxious and self-excluding students a pathway to onward success.

Apollo, is a unit with Haybrook College, an Alternative Provision College in Slough that supports young people who aren’t in mainstream education. Apollo staff work with students who have self-excluded for various reasons, including bullying, poor mental health and extreme anxiety, and therefore cannot cope in a mainstream setting.

The partnership between Apollo and Academy21 was forged over a decade ago, and we are proud to work closely with Julia and her team to provide GCSE provision for her students. If you are considering setting up an inclusion unit within your school, or are simply interested in how other establishments implement our provision, take a look at Julia’s video below.

In the video you’ll hear how the Apollo system works; combining online academic provision from Academy21 with pastoral support from the Apollo staff on-site.

Having worked closely with Academy21 for so many years, Julia has a lot to say about our provision.  In the following clip, you’ll hear what she thinks of the Academy21 classes, our teachers, and the reporting functions.
